Refreshing an Excel Pivot Table Report | Refresh Data |
When your source data changes you need to show the changes in your Excel Pivot Table/s
To do this you need to use the Refresh Data functionality of your Excel Pivot Table.
There are two ways of doing this:
1. Excel Pivot Table - Refresh Data using mouse (Right Button Click)
2. Excel Pivot Table - Refresh Data using Pivot Table menu.

3. Select the ‘Refresh Data’ option from the list. The information in the Excel Pivot Table will refresh automatically.
Note: Remember to expand the range of your source data via the Excel Pivot Table wizard (Step 2 of 3) if you have added information to your source data.
This sets the Excel Pivot Table as the area to print.

To make it easier to follow the Excel Pivot Table report from one page to the next, you can automatically reprint labels at the top of each page.
- Ensure that you have selected a cell in your Excel Pivot Table.
- Select the ‘Refresh Data’ option from the Pivot Table menu. This is the red exclamation mark on your Excel Pivot Table menu.
The information in the Excel Pivot Table will refresh automatically.
Note: If you cannot see the Pivot Table toolbar menu follow the Pivot Table toolbar menu guidelines to display it.
